Daze of the WeekBy Nur Shahanis Binte Johar
Based on her hobby of paper cutting, this series of prints represents the days of a week and are inspired by interviews about her life, values and love for making short videos on TikTok. We learnt about the work on artists like MC Escher who use tessellation and Andy Warhol’s pop art. Each pattern, which is based on a specific activity like staring at the ceiling, attempting Maths or creating a TikTok song that determines that day of the week, was translated into a delightful play of hue, order and rhythm. They were then digitised through powerpoint art and printed on cloth.
